Academic House and Sullivan Hall
Abstract
Description
ACADEMIC HOUSE - Year of construction: 1991; $8.6 million. Architects: Centerbrook Architects. Dedicated in 1992 as the Academic Center Residence Hall, Academic House is a 170-room facility that can house up to 400 students. Adjacent to Sullivan Hall, it was built as the first phase of the development of Academic Center, composed of both a Residence Hall (Academic House) and Academic Center (Sullivan Hall), intended to provide an "alternative to the more traditional configuration of separate housing and classroom arrangements on campus." Academic House was decommissioned in 2021.

SULLIVAN HALL - Year of Construction: 1993. Architects: Centerbrook Architects. Sullivan Hall was originally called Academic Hall, the learning arm of the Academic Center complex built to be a living-learning community. It is home to the Jesup Scott Honors College. It was renamed Sullivan Hall in 1998 in honor of Charles Sullivan, a 1959 UToledo alum who donated $1.05 million to the university.
