Carl Joseph Campaign Pamphlet: "Please Don't Vote for Me Unless You Agree with this Program." Carl Joseph ran for Ohio state representative sometime between 1938 and 1940. This campaign pamphlet clearly outlines what he passionately stood for and believed. His platform seemed radical to many back then - and for good reason. You can see the nine platform agenda items that he ran on including complete equality of all races! This of course, is decades before the Civil Rights movement. All nine of these points are still absolutely relevant today.
