Abstract
Description
Columbus, Ohio, firemen in "proximity" suits made of Fiberglas Beta Fabrics, move in close to put out a blaze. These suits protect rescue workers in an near radiant heat up to 1600°, yet are no bulkier than a top coat with a zip-in lining. Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation, Toledo, Ohio developed fire-safe Fiberglas Beta yarns. Proximity suits are manufactured by Fyrepel Products, Inc. of Newark, Ohio.
