University Stadium was rededicated as the Glass Bowl in 1946 with the Rockets defeating previously undefeated Bates College during the dedication game on December 7, with a score of 21-12. This post-season game, the University of Toledo’s own bowl game, continued for three more seasons, from 1947 to 1949. Photos on the side of the pedestal: [2]Betty Gerken, Queen of the Glass Bowl (1946). [3] William Gall, Team Captain of the Rockets for the Inaugural Glass Bowl (1946).
