Jerome Raymond, 1909-1910

Dr. Jerome H. Raymond assisted the Board of Directors in organizing a university that consisted of more than one department, as Toledo University had been operating only as manual training school since 1884. He had been a professor of sociology and economics at the University of Chicago at the time but, having made a favorable impression on the Board when he gave a talk in Toledo, was offered the presidency of the new University.
