Collection deals with the attempt by the University of Toledo faculty to be represented by a collective bargaining agent in 1974. In that year, the faculty were asked to vote as to whether they wanted to be represented by the American Federation of Teachers, the American Association of University Professors, or have no bargaining agent. In a run-off election of May 1974, they voted for no collective bargaining agent.
