Purpose of Policy: To enumerate the specific requirements, roles and responsibilities for the performance of human research at the University of Toledo.  This policy is intended to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects and to assure that human research activities conform to the ethical codes of conduct for human experimentation, federal and state statutes, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, policies and guidelines; and applicable University policies and procedures that are referenced in this policy.
