GLASS BOWL STADIUM - Year of Construction: 1937; $335,000.  Architects: Gerow and Conklin.  Construction of the Stadium was completed entirely by hand with no excavation tools. 300 men used shovels and wheelbarrows to carve the football field into a large hill. Glass Bowl Stadium was renovated multiple times throughout the years, yet still includes the original stone wall from1937 surrounding the stadium. JOHN F. SAVAGE ARENA - Year of Construction: 1976; $8.5 million.   Architects: Buehrer and Stough Originally known as Centennial Hall, Savage Arena began as a multipurpose activities center that housed a recreation center, track, and facilities for indoor baseball, tennis, and soccer. It also hosted numerous concerts with headlines featuring The Beach Boys, Hank Williams Jr., Kenny Rogers, Billy Joel, Dolly Parton, and more. Centennial Hall was renamed Savage Hall in 1988 and rededicated in 1989.
